Pandora: A Reasoning Toolbox using Natural Deduction Style

چکیده
Pandora is a tool for supporting the learning of first order natural deduction. It includes a help window, an interactive context sensitive tutorial known as the ‘‘e-tutor’’ and facilities to save, reload and export to . Every attempt to apply a natural deduction rule is met with either success or a helpful error message, providing the student with instant feedback. Detailed electronic logs of student usage are recorded for evaluation purposes. This paper describes the basic functionality, the e-tutor, our experiences of using the tool in teaching and our

Inference Graphs: A New Kind of Hybrid Reasoning System
Hybrid reasoners combine multiple types of reasoning, usually subsumption and Prolog-style resolution. We outline a system which combines natural deduction and subsumption reasoning using Inference Graphs implementing a Logic of Arbitrary and Indefinite Objects.
متن کاملGentzen-Prawitz Natural Deduction as a Teaching Tool
We report a four-years experiment in teaching reasoning to undergraduate students, ranging from weak to gifted, using GentzenPrawitz’s style natural deduction. We argue that this pedagogical approach is a good alternative to the use of Boolean algebra for teaching reasoning, especially for computer scientists and formal methods practioners.

متن کاملA Natural Deduction Approach to Dynamic Logic
Natural Deduction style presentations of program logics are useful in view of the implementation of such logics in interactive proof development environments, based on type theory, such as LEGO, Coq, etc. In fact, ND-style systems are the kind of systems which can take best advantage of the possibility of reasoning “under assumptions” offered by proof assistants generated by Logical Frameworks....
متن کاملModelling Resource Bounded Reasoners: An Example
We present Timed Reasoning Logics (TRL) as a framework that allows one to model multiagent systems over time without assuming agents are logically omniscient. TRL can be seen as a combination of syntactic epistemic logics and temporal logics. This paper is primarily concerned with illustrating TRL concepts using a propositional natural deduction-style reasoner, which derives consequences of its...
